About Cartier
The name Cartier is synonymous with luxury, quality, and style. Founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-Francois Cartier, the company became renowned worldwide for its design and production of beautiful jewelry and opulent objets d’art. A royal commission in 1904 made Cartier a supplier to Europe’s Crowned Heads of State and led England’s King Edward VII to describe Louis Cartier, grandson of the founder, as the jeweler of Kings, the King among jewellers.
By the early 20th century, Cartier had expanded its collection to include watches. At a time when pocket watches were still considered de rigueur for the distinguished gentleman, Cartier helped popularize the wristwatch, making it a bold fashion statement for men and women as well as a status symbol among the well-to-do. Louis Cartier is credited with creating the first men’s wristwatch, the Santos, in 1904. He developed and named the watch for his client and friend, the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, who needed a device that would allow him to read the time without taking his hands off the controls of his airplane. Other classic designs followed, including Cartier’s signature timepiece, the Tank, in 1917, and later Cartier’s first water-resistant watch, the Pasha, created especially for the Pasha of Marrakesh.
Treasured by collectors, Cartier watches are distinguished by their impressive variety of shapes (round, square, oval, Tank, Tortue and Tonneau), by their exceptional materials and workmanship, and by their recognizable Cartier aesthetic, an elegant blend of classic and modern design.
This watch has been a nightmare over the last year. My father bought it for me on amazon as a gift. 6 months later it stopped working! I took it to the Cartier store in NYC and they charged me $400 to fix it, because the warrenty that came with the watch was not filled out and void, the warrenty was from a Hong Kong store!!! If you like this watch buy it at a Cartier botique because the money you save buying it here will end up in battery replacements and repairs!!!

About TAG Heuer
TAG Heuer traces its roots to the small Swiss village of St-Imier where, in 1860, a watchmaker named Edouard Heuer opened his first shop. His vision was to create remarkable timepieces that pushed the envelope of innovation and precision. The company’s reputation grew, and Heuer’s first patent for a chronograph mechanism in 1882 was followed by a long list of achievements: the first stopwatch accurate to 1/100 of a second, the first dashboard stopwatch for race cars, the first miniature electronic timekeeping device accurate to 1/1000th of a second, and the first automatic movement with a microrotor, to name just a few. Over the years, Heuer’s reputation for gold-standard precision earned the company the privilege of providing official timing services for a number of world-class competitive sporting events, including the Olympic Games, the FIS Ski World Cup, and the FIA Formula 1 World Championships. To this day, TAG Heuer maintains a close association with the world of competitive sports and enjoys a devoted following among sports celebrities and enthusiasts. In 1985, Heuer joined the TAG (Techniques D’Avant-Garde) group, and the TAG Heuer name and logo were created. Now one of the most recognized and sought-after watch brands in the world, TAG Heuer continues its reputation of innovative design and technological excellence, creating prestigious timepieces that are always at the cutting edge of precision, reliability and style.
I had my eye on this watch for quite a while. In fact, I was looking at several and had a hard time deciding between this same one with the white face and another model that includes a digital readout. I already have a Swiss Army Officer’s Ratchet Bezel with black face so thought I should get a different color face. I ordered the white face, got it and just wasn’t happy with it – too bright. Sent that back, ordered the black face and love it – the three chrono dials add a bit of color and interest to the black face. Very sporty, but classic enough to look good at work. It is now my go-to watch for every day.
